ATHENA ritual oil ~ Career Success Oil
This Athena ritual oil is crafted with select botanicals and resins historically associated with Athena, wisdom and war craft.
Athena often given the epithet Pallas, is an ancient Greek goddess associated with wisdom, warfare, and handicraft who was later syncretized with the Roman goddess Minerva. The Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens is dedicated to her. Her major symbols include owls, olive trees, snakes, and the Gorgoneion. In art, she is generally depicted wearing a helmet and holding a spear. Known as as the patron of craft and weaving, and of heroic endeavor; she was believed to have aided the heroes Perseus, Heracles, Bellerophon, and Jason. Athena represented the disciplined, strategic side of war, in contrast to her brother Ares, the patron of violence, bloodlust, and slaughter—"the raw force of war". Athena was believed to only support those fighting for a just cause and was thought to view war primarily as a means to resolve conflict. The Greeks regarded Athena with much higher esteem than Ares. As the patroness of heroes and warriors, Athena was believed to favor those who used cunning and intelligence rather than brute strength. Since the Renaissance, Athena has become an international symbol of wisdom, the arts, and classical learning. Western artists and allegorists have often used Athena as a symbol of freedom and democracy. Some have described Athena, along with the goddesses Hestia and Artemis as being asexual, this is mainly supported by the fact that in the Homeric Hymns, To Aphrodite, where Aphrodite is described as having "no power" over the three goddesses. Image featured: Pallas Athena (c. 1655) by Rembrandt.
